Solera Grand Reserva rum is aged in the mountains of Guatemala at an altitude of 2,300 metres. It is only at this ‘cottage on top of clouds’ that the Zacapa rum achieves its exceptionally strong aroma, perfect colour and rich taste. A bottle of Zacapa 23Y rum contains a blend of rums, the youngest of which at least six years old and the oldest 23 years old. Each bottle of Zacapa is decorated with a handmade ‘petate’ ribbon, a 3,000-year-old royal tradition of the Mayans. These modern petate ribbons are handmade by the descendants of the Mayans.
