History Brand
Barton & Guestier offers wines from all the major French regions, such as Bordeaux, the Loire Valley, Burgundy, Beaujolais, the Rhône Valley, Languedoc, Gascony, and Corsica. Whether you’re a casual wine enthusiast or an experienced connoisseur, you can always count on consistent quality.
At the heart of this business lies collaboration. Barton & Guestier works with several hundred French grape growers and winemakers. Under the careful supervision of the company’s winemaker, Laurent Prada, production is carried out according to the highest quality standards. The wines are exported to more than 130 countries worldwide.
Château Magnol serves as the company’s headquarters, estate, and showcase vineyard. This 30-hectare vineyard was established as the center of operations in 1979. Immediately after acquisition, the company began restoring the vineyards and cellars, and in 1987, as a result of intensive work, the Château Magnol vineyard was classified as a Cru Bourgeois. The soil is composed of gravel and sand, and the microclimate is shaped by the nearby Atlantic Ocean and Gironde estuary. Today, the vineyard is planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc grapes.
The 18th-century estate complex, together with the surrounding vineyard, is located in the prestigious Haut-Médoc region in southwestern France, near Bordeaux. A team of 40 people works there. In addition, Château Magnol houses a renowned guesthouse and an excellent wine education center.
